Changing the Demo (a little)

Monday, September 16, 2002

The initial concept of my demo was to take a neatly structured text and re-render it as a series of "card-layout" layers with a table of contents. Judging by the tag-soup generated by typical websites, this task seems a little unrealistic. Until they start to cotton on to the benefits of well-structured markup that actually reflects the content.

Instead, I think I'll change the demo to take a tag-soup page, extract the textual content, and render that one screen chunk at a time, limiting the number of characters per page, with a backwards and forwards navigation through the story. So a mobile phone or Pocket PC user will still be able to read the brand new news stories.
